The Deb showing occurs in an area of sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group that are intruded by Eocene plutonic rocks of the Coast Plutonic Complex.

The Deb 1 showing is underlain primarily by quartz diorite. Several quartz veins (up to 60 centimetres wide) containing stringers and pockets of massive sulphides were located. Reported sulphides include pyrite, pyrrhotite, galena and chalcopyrite.

Samples yielded weakly elevated silver and copper values. A small outcrop of dark green andesite was located near the southwestern boundary of the property, which also yielded weakly elevated silver and copper values. Sample KOR 057 consisted of 1 to 3 per cent disseminated pyrite and minor chalcopyrite and assayed up to 0.135 per cent copper (Assessment Report 19682). Sample KZR-066 was taken from a quartz vein with bands of massive pyrite and galena and assayed 0.0122 per cent molybdenum and 0.0264 per cent tungsten (Assessment Report 19682). Sample KZR-066 was taken from the same vein as KZR-065 which was taken from a 60-centimetre-wide quartz vein with pyrite and trace pyrrhotite and hosted by very fine-grained quartz diorite. Assays were not significant for sample KZR-065.

Work History

Several claims were located on Canyon Creek about 1905 and considerable prospecting was done at that time. The main showings were on the Black Bear and Daily Boy claims. No development work of note was done on either of these prospects.

The 1989 property exploration program of Backer Resources Ltd on the Deb North property consisted of helicopter-supported reconnaissance prospecting, geological mapping, and geochemistry. A total of 28 rock, 1 heavy mineral, and 2 stream silt samples were collected. The Canyon Creek showings were thought by Backer Resources to exist in the northeast corner of the Deb property and, though most of Backers exploration work occurred in that vicinity, no evidence of the original showing was found. Andesites and argillites were sampled in 1989.

In 2016, Colorado Resources Ltd. completed a reconnaissance exploration program on their KingPin Property which covered the Deb area and 35 other MINFILE occurrences on the property. Work included the collection of 147 rock chip and grab samples and a total of 129 soil samples (Assessment Report 36656). According to Colorado, prospecting and soil sampling near the Deb did not result in any notable precious metal assays. Two soil samples near the Deb MINFILE occurrence were elevated in zinc. An exploration soil line is plotted to the north and northwest of the Deb occurrence along a northwest trending ridge (Figure 16a. Assessment Report 36656).
